Is Cart Rebound free?
Yes. Cart Rebound is free, open-source software released under the GPL. It does not require a Cart Rebound account, subscription, or license key.
Where is recovery data stored?
Cart and recovery records stay in your WordPress database. The plugin does not send cart data or telemetry to the author. Your hosting, email provider, and other installed services may have their own data practices.
Can it track guest carts?
Yes, when guest tracking is enabled. The plugin can capture contact details entered during checkout. Store owners remain responsible for consent, privacy notices, and a lawful basis for recovery messages.
How many automated emails does it send?
The current free plugin can send one optional automated recovery email after a cart becomes eligible. Store managers can also send a manual reminder from the cart record.
What does the recovery link restore?
A secure tokenized link can rebuild products, quantities, variations, and applied coupons, then return the shopper to checkout. Availability and current product rules are still respected by WooCommerce.
Does it support coupons?
Yes. Email templates can reference an existing WooCommerce coupon, and valid coupons stored with the cart can be restored with the recovery flow.
Does it support the WooCommerce Checkout Block?
Yes. Cart Rebound supports classic checkout and the WooCommerce Checkout Block through the Store API capture path.
Is Cart Rebound compatible with HPOS?
Yes. The plugin supports WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage and links recovery records to paid orders through WooCommerce order APIs and metadata.
How are background checks scheduled?
Cart Rebound uses Action Scheduler when available and falls back to WP-Cron. Reliable store traffic or a real server cron improves the consistency of WordPress scheduled work.
How is recovered revenue attributed?
A paid order is counted as recovered when it is explicitly linked to a tracked recovery record. This avoids treating unrelated orders as recovered revenue.
Do I need a separate email service?
Cart Rebound sends through WordPress wp_mail(). Many production stores connect WordPress to an SMTP or transactional email provider for stronger deliverability.
Does the plugin make my store legally compliant?
No plugin can make that promise. Cart Rebound provides retention controls and WordPress privacy export and erasure integrations, while the store owner remains responsible for consent, notices, retention choices, and local law.
